What's The Difference Between College Baseball's Hardest Thrower's Mechanics At
103 MPH vs 92 MPH?
All right, this is Greysen Carter, college baseball's hardest thrower at 103 and consistently pitches in the 100 mph range.
Before we get to his video, I want to discuss the #1 issue I see with pitchers today.
- It's why they struggle to translate drills into mechanics that hold up when you step on the mound.
- And it's also why pitchers hit a velocity plateau.
- Take a look at the video below and see which lower-half pattern resembles yours.
Does Your Lower-Half Push Across a Park Bench Or
Ride the Slide Down The Mound?
Pitchers who can't control their core to take advantage of gravity and amplify ground force to
Ride the Slide will experience the following problems.
- They will reach a velocity plateau, usually unable to break past 85 mph.
- They will open their torso early and struggle to keep the front-side closed.
- They will not be able to maintain hip/shoulder separation.
- Instead they will be forced to artificially create it by counter-rotating or delaying shoulder rotation.
- The arm will often be late or low.
- They will struggle with consistency, both velocity and command.
- They will tend to miss arm-side high and in with the fastball.
- Struggle to finish hitters with off-speed because the breaking ball tends to flatten out.
5 Steps To Ride the Slide
- Get a FEEL for you hips. (Can you flex each glute independently?)
- Master the hinge. (Most players confuse squatting for hinging, or they lean over their head and do not move correctly through the middle.)
- Anchor the Lift. (Can you lift your lead leg without locking or shifting the back knee cap, shifting weight in your feet or swaying your posture.)
- Corkscrew the hips/feet (Can you externally rotate your back hip without turning your shoulders or your feet?)
- Single leg hinge. (Can you move down the mound with your behind kept behind you?)
Watch this video by Dr. Sills. He's the Director of Neurosurgery at Vanderbilt Med Center and the Chief Medical Officer of the NFL. Here's what we've known since 2015. This information changed the game for us and it's why we see such rapid transformations. FEEL has a way of making things happen naturally, just a whole lot faster.
If your velocity is stuck and you need velocity from somewhere and need it fast, then don't miss the opportunity to reserve your spot at one of my 3-Day neu- Core Velocity Belt Transformation Programs this summer.
Trust what you FEEL!

P.S: Now, the video you came here to see, Greysen Carter. 🌪
